Our school, Rajarshi Gurukul, organized its annual domestic trip from November 20th,2024 to November 23rd, 2024 to Pokhara, the glistening city and home to over 500,000 people. Over the four days, students and teachers bonded over shared experiences learned valuable lessons and created cherished memories.
Day 1: 20th November 2024, Wednesday
Our first day began with all the students and teachers gathering at school around 6:15 a.m. Then, departing the bus at around 7:00 a.m. We started our journey from school and mid-way had packed breakfast provided by the school. Lunch was provided en route which allowed us to stretch, refresh, and enjoy a meal together. After almost 4 to 5 hours, we had reached our destination. We checked in at Tuki Resort Pokhara, freshened up, and had dinner around 8 p.m. The night had ended on a warm and cheerful note with a campfire activity which was a great opportunity to bond and share stories with my friends.
Day 2: 21st November 2024, Thursday
Day 2 was packed with adventure, learning, and breathtaking sights. We began the day with a visit to the newly opened Annapurna Cable car, where we enjoyed stunning views. After returning to the hotel, we had a delicious breakfast and took some time to rest and recharge.
A short drive to Chhorepatan and a hike to the top of the Ananda Hill arrived at our next destination, the Shanti Stupa. The Shanti Stupa offered us a moment of peace and reflection. Our journey continued to the International Mountaineering Museum where we explored Nepal’s diverse cultures, traditions, and art as well as exhibits of different countries. We had a delicious lunch on the way. The day ended with a thrilling trip to Mahendra Cave and Bat Cave where we witnessed a remarkable number of bats in their natural habitat.
Day 3: 22nd November 2024, Friday
Day 3 began with a fulfilling breakfast at the hotel. From there, we transferred to our hiking point and started our journey. Our first destination was Australian Base Camp where we soaked in the stunning view. The Australian Base Camp was a great way to experience the beauty of the Annapurna range and the culture of Nepal. We continued to Dhampus where we marveled at the beauty of the surroundings. After recharging, we resumed our hike, stopping along the way for a delicious Nepali lunch.
Finally, we hiked back to Phedi and roamed around Lakeside. In Lakeside, we were mesmerized by the amazing natural beauty, especially of the Phewa Lake. The peaceful environment crafted a serene atmosphere ideal for relaxation. The gentle breeze from the lake, the chirping of birds, and the colourful boats on the lake enhanced the charm of the experience. At last, we returned to Tuki Resort and had dinner which brought our day to a close.
Day 4: 23rd November 2024, Saturday
The final day of our trip started with an early breakfast at the hotel. After a heavy breakfast, we boarded the bus and began our journey back to Kathmandu. Along the way, we enjoyed a nice lunch. Our journey back was just as memorable and fun as the rest of the trip. Along the way, we saw various places in Nepal, each with its charm and uniqueness. At the end of the day around 5 p.m., as we made our way back from Koteshwor to Ghattaghar and Sallaghari, I reunited with my parents in front of the school.
Overall, I had an amazing and joyful trip. I’ve explored new places, embraced different cultures, and grown closer with my friends as well as the teachers. I want to express warm gratitude to the school team for making this trip memorable and possible.
