Our Grade 1 students visited Tiger Lily Petting Farm for a fun-filled educational experience. The trip aimed to connect their learning of science (animals around us and social studies our ancient tools) through engaging activities.

The students started by feeding friendly animals like goats, rabbits, and birds, which helped them understand the importance of kindness and responsibility toward animals. This hands-on experience reinforced their science lessons about different species, their habitats, and their dietary needs.

Next, they enjoyed horse riding with the guidance of farm staff, building their confidence and balance.
The trip also included an exploration of traditional farming tools and a visit to the seed bank, where students learned about agricultural practices and the importance of seed preservation. This activity helped them connect with history, understanding how ancient tools contributed to farming and food production over generations.

They then went on a tractor ride around the farm, experiencing a real farm-life adventure, a new experience for many students compared to riding in luxurious cars.
In the later part of the trip, the children had creative fun building sandcastles and playing on slides and swings, making the most of their outdoor time while reinforcing teamwork and imagination.

The visit concluded with a group photo and a warm thank-you to the farm staff for their hospitality. The students left with smiles, new knowledge, and wonderful memories of their day at the farm, having strengthened their understanding of science and social studies in an interactive way.
