Yellow Day Celebration: A Joyful Journey with Grandparents

On 14th July 2025, the Grade 2 students celebrated Yellow Day with great enthusiasm and warmth under the theme “We Are What We Eat.”  The event successfully united students and their grandparents, fostering a meaningful bond between generations. The venue was brightened with the vibrant hues of yellow, symbolizing happiness, energy, and freshness.

The program promoted healthy eating and honored the wisdom of grandparents. It beautifully combined fun, learning, and connection. The event began with a joyful mango-themed song that filled the hall with energy and excitement.

To add a spark of fun and laughter, grandparents were engaged in a delightful riddle session that brought smiles and laughter all around. The grandparents responded with enthusiasm, enjoying the friendly challenge and playful interaction with the young learners.

One of the most meaningful moments of the program was the Grandparents Sharing Session, where grandparents fondly recalled their eating habits and food practices from their time, offering students a valuable glimpse into the past and reinforcing the importance of traditional, wholesome eating. They emphasized the value of eating fresh and natural meals, cooking at home, and enjoying food together as a family. Their stories gave students valuable insights into traditional eating habits and how food was deeply connected to culture and lifestyle in the past.

The students also showcased their learning through a well-prepared PowerPoint presentation on the theme We Are What We Eat, displaying their understanding of healthy food choices and their impact on our lives. They explained how food affects our body, mind, and energy, and why it is important to make healthy food choices. The audience enjoyed the performance and appreciated the students’ efforts.

Adding to the thoughtful messages of the day, a skit was performed by the students that conveyed a beautiful moral lesson—we should be happy with what we have. It reminded everyone to appreciate the blessings in life and find joy in simplicity.

To add a joyful twist, a fun-filled musical chair game was organized for the grandparents, where their active participation and laughter filled the room with joy. It was a fun-filled activity that brought out their playful side and created a lively atmosphere. Everyone clapped and cheered for the enthusiastic participants.

The event concluded with a group photo session, capturing the smiles and beautiful moments shared during the day. Light refreshments and snacks were served, giving everyone a chance to relax, mingle, and enjoy the warmth of the occasion.

The Yellow Day celebration was not just a colorful event, but also a meaningful experience that highlighted the values of gratitude, healthy living, and strengthened the bond between generations. The event left everyone with happy hearts, big smiles, and a reminder that – “We truly are what we eat.”
